Spotlight: S.G. Lee
I’ve spent quite a bit of time exploring the plethora of horror entertainment and media available lately and, it being Artists in Horror Month, I thought I’d take some time to share some of what I’ve found. Yesterday, I let you know about the wonderful little freakish world of author Toni Odell in her debut novella, The Devil Brigade. Today, I would like to share with you the writings of S.G. Lee who also happened to win a Rune Fiend Deluxe PDF Edition of my latest story, The Lurker in the Void. Aside from that grand achievement, Lee runs a horror fiction blog with the brilliant title of Raindrops on Corpses & Whiskers on Zombies… These Are A Few of My Favorite Things.
Recently, I have started reading a serial running on the site titled The Freaks Come Out at Night. It is the story of Mystic Magill’s Big Top Carnival, the failing dream of Bill “Big Top” Magill. As the carnival’s proprietor prepares to shut the operation down the people that have made a living and found meaning thanks to “Big Top” come together with a plan to save the business. The plan, conceived by the seedy figure named Maven, is hatched and, fifteen years later, the carnival is doing better than ever.
But things may not be all they seem… especially when it comes to Maven. Followed around by two “assistants,” Maven’s act comes under investigation and, if Barnum & Bailey is the Greatest Show on Earth, his is the bloodiest.
This is not the only series to be found on Raindrops on Corpses, etc, either. Nor is it there only serialized fiction. Visitors will find all kinds of well written and always fun fiction. I strongly suggest it.
